Connecting a screen links a physical display device to your Advahini workspace so you can assign content and manage it remotely. The process uses an activation code that the Advahini player generates on the device. This page walks you through pairing a screen from start to finish.Documentation Index

Before you start
- The Advahini player must be running on the device you want to connect. See Player for how to launch it.
- You need an existing playlist, schedule, or sequence if you want to assign content during setup. You can also connect the screen first and assign content later.
Connect a screen
Open the Screens page
In the Advahini sidebar, click Screens. You see a grid of all screens currently connected to your workspace.
Open the Connect new screen dialog
Click New Screen in the toolbar, or click the + tile at the end of the screen grid. The Connect new screen dialog opens.
Get the activation code from the player
On the device you want to connect, open the Advahini player. The player displays a short activation code (for example,
XD8A) on screen.Enter the screen details
Fill in the following fields in the dialog:
- Screen name — A label to identify this screen in your workspace (required).
- Activation code — The code shown on the player (required). The field converts your input to uppercase automatically.
- Playlist or Schedule — Choose whether to assign a playlist, schedule, or sequence at connection time (optional).
- Screen Group — An optional label to group screens by location or function.
Assign content (optional)
If you selected Playlist, Schedule, or Sequence in the previous step, use the second dropdown to choose the specific item you want to assign. You can skip this and assign content later from the screen card.
After connecting
Once connected, the screen appears on your Screens page with an Active status. If you assigned content during setup, the player begins polling for that content and starts playback. To assign or change content after connecting, use the dropdowns at the bottom of the screen card and click Assign.Offline and disconnect behavior
If the player loses its internet connection, the screen goes offline in your workspace. It retains its current assignment and continues playing from its local cache where possible. When the connection is restored, the player polls for any updates and resumes normal operation. Disconnecting a screen (from the player’s options menu on the device) marks it as offline without deleting the screen record, its assignment, or its zone configuration. You can reconnect the same screen using a new activation code.Disconnecting a screen from the player does not remove it from your workspace. The screen remains in your screen list and can be reconnected at any time.
