Screens are the physical display devices registered to your Advahini workspace. Each screen you connect appears on the Screens page, where you can see its current status, assign content, and open its settings. This page explains the screen lifecycle, the types of content you can assign, and the settings available for each screen.

Screen lifecycle

A screen moves through three states:
StateWhat it means
Not connectedThe player is running on the device and showing an activation code, but you haven’t claimed it yet.
ActiveThe screen is registered to your workspace and eligible to receive and play content.
DisabledThe screen is registered but paused. It stops playback until you re-enable it. Disabling a screen does not delete it or its assignment.
You can also see whether a screen is online or offline. An online screen has an active player connection. An offline screen retains its assignment and resumes playback when the connection is restored.

What you can do on the Screens page

  • Connect a new screen — Pair a physical display to your workspace using an activation code.
  • Assign content — Set a playlist, schedule, or sequence directly from each screen card.
  • Enable or disable — Pause or resume a screen without removing it.
  • Delete — Permanently remove a screen from your workspace.
  • Edit settings — Open the screen settings page to configure orientation, rotation, zones, and more.
  • Preview — Open the player for a screen in a new tab to see what it is currently showing.
  • Search — Filter your screen list by name.
Deleting a screen is permanent and cannot be undone. The screen’s assignment and zone configuration are also removed.

Content assignment types

Each screen can be assigned one of three content types: Playlist — A fixed sequence of scenes (images, videos, YouTube, Canva, embeds, and slideshows) that loops on the screen. Schedule — A weekly timetable that plays different playlists at different times of day. If no scheduled slot matches the current time, the schedule’s fallback playlist plays instead. Sequence — An ordered chain of playlists that plays one after another. You can change a screen’s assignment at any time from the screen card on the Screens page or from the screen’s settings page.

Screen settings

Each screen has a settings page where you can configure:
  • Name — A label to identify the screen in your workspace.
  • Orientation — Landscape or portrait.
  • Rotation — Normal, left, right, or upside down.
  • Device timezone — The timezone used for schedule matching on that screen.
  • Zone layout — How the screen is divided into areas, each capable of showing different content or overlay widgets.
